BH Solutions Group is an Executive Recruiting and Consulting firm located in Akron, OH.
Currently seeking a Corporate Controller supervises all accounting functions within our client’s organization. This position is responsible for managing the treasury functions – bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable; general ledger; Acumatica accounting system and Velixo financial reporting within the organization. This position reports directly to the CFO. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s core values.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Corporate Controller
- Lead, Manage and be Accountable for accounting personnel and processes.
- Assist interdepartmental teams with financial decisions.
- Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and financial statements to understand the state of business.
- Supervise accounting department employees including hiring, managing, terminating, developing and motivating the team.
- Primary point of contact with outside auditors and tax advisers.
- Expert in integrating acquired company systems and personnel in company’s accounting protocols.
- Keep up to date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
- Stay current and understand financials to meet legal requirements.
- Create systems and processes to improve company functions and performance.
- Implement internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Education/Experience
Responsibilities for the Corporate Controller
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in a service industry is preferred
- Active CPA license preferred
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and consolidating financial reporting
- Public accounting auditing experience highly desirable
- Must have a strong background in all areas of accounting and financial reporting
- M&A accounting and acquisition experience essential
- Extensive experience with ERP system management and implementation is preferred (Acumatica, Velixo and Aspire preferable)
- Must have managed processes and people effectively in recent past
- Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Suite and ability to quickly learn new software programs
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, initiative-taking, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
- Must lead accounting in a continuous improvement culture.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate teams and direct reports.
- A positive attitude and a knack for working in a cooperative team environment.
- Must be extremely organized.
- Must have a drive to meet strict deadlines and be able to hold others accountable to them.
- Must be able to keep short-term goals aligned with the bigger picture of the company’s strategic vision.
