Operations Controller in West Chester, PA

We have been retained by a Cleveland-based facilities management company to assist in their search for an Operations Controller who will be responsible for accurate and timely month-end closing; financial planning, analysis and reporting; and monitoring of transaction workflow processes within the assigned region(s). This position will design and administer financial processes with a focus on continuous improvement and scaling for growth. Responsibilities
- Partner with the regional operations management teams with a focus on financial literacy and managing the business by the numbers.
- Manage the annual budgeting process, income statements and capital expenditures, in collaboration with the Regional and Branch Managers.
- Responsible for data integrity, timely and accurate reporting, and coordination with customers, vendors and internal constituents.
- Through coaching and training, grow and develop strong operations management
- Develop and track monthly and weekly KPIs for operational and financial performance and partner with operations management personnel to develop strategies to achieve KPI targets.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable specialist employees including hiring, managing, terminating, developing and motivating the team.
- Oversee regional accounts receivable (invoicing, cash application, and customer collections).
- Oversee regional accounts payable (vendor payments, cash flow planning, general ledger coding).
- Cross functional collaboration with the human resources department to ensure efficient and accurate accounting for payroll and employee benefits programs.
- Manage and be accountable for all general ledger activities related to regional month-end closing activities and
- Prepare reports and perform required filings to government agencies, customers, vendors, and auditors including activities related to tax filings, insurance programs, and company vehicles.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
- CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in US GAAP, general accounting, payroll, transaction processing, banking, financial planning and analysis, and best practices.
- 5+ years of related experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager. Prior public accounting experience helpful.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Financial Accounting and Reporting systems. Ability to adapt to new technologies. Acumatica Accounting and Aspire Landscaping Management software experience highly desirable.
- Current knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws, best practices, and forward-looking trends.
