BH Solutions Group is an Executive Recruiting and Consulting firm located in Akron, OH.
We have been retained by a leading manufacturer/supplier of process additives for the plastics and rubber industries in their search for a Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the Corporate Management Team, reporting to the President, the CFO will be responsible for analysis and oversight of risk management, fiscal control and reporting, corporate accounting and finance, and taxation reporting. Additionally, the role will manage the company’s business investments, corporate banking and lines of credit, as well as cash holdings.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Chief Financial Officer
- Supervise Accounting Department and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Handling daily cash balances and deposits.
- Gather financial data and ledgers.
- Consolidate and analyze financial statements and results.
- Lead the yearly budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor expenditures.
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Manage periodical reporting.
- Oversee external and internal audits.
- Ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Arranging equity financing and debt financing.
- Analyze finances to determine risks and create forecasts for cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and funds available for investment.
- Maintaining banking and financial institution relationships.
- Monitoring the activities of third parties handling outsourced accounting functions on behalf of the organization.
- Maintaining a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over accounting activities.
- Analyze costs and advise sales on pricing strategies.
- Actively participate on the Corporate Management Team and advise the other team members, President, and CEO on matters such as effective business plans, cost-related issues, liquidity aspects of the organization’s short and long-range planning, and other financial issues.
- Other financial and accounting duties as required.
Education/Experience
Requirements for the Chief Financial Officer
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in same or similar position
- Proven experience as a Corporate Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
- In-depth experience in risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and finance software
- An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Organizational and leadership skills
