We have been retained by a Cleveland-based facilities management company to assist in their search for a Regional Sales Manager who will be responsible for driving profitable organic growth across the region by coaching, training, and developing Business Development Managers (BDMs) and supporting Account Managers (AMs) to maximize client retention and wallet share.
This Sales Leader will build a high-performance sales culture focused on new client acquisition, strategic account expansion, and delivering an extraordinary customer experience — resulting in higher gross margins, increased lifetime value, and 93%+ customer retention.
This role blends leadership, strategy, coaching, and field execution.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities for the Regional Sales Manager
- Recruit, coach, and develop Business Development Managers.
- Drive consistent prospecting cadence, pipeline management, and territory planning.
- Ensure BDMs are targeting ideal client profiles aligned with company strategy.
- Conduct ride-alongs, joint sales calls, and proposal strategy sessions.
- Improve close rates and sales cycle velocity.
- Drive annual regional new sales targets.
- Partner with Account Managers to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Develop structured account growth plans for top 25% of revenue clients.
- Implement strategic pricing discipline to protect and expand gross margins.
- Lead quarterly account strategy reviews.
- Support renewal strategy to maintain 93%+ retention.
- Drive revenue growth with a strong emphasis on gross margin improvement.
- Ensure pricing aligns with market conditions and operational capacity.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure sold work is executed profitably.
- Monitor KPIs: close rate, pipeline coverage, renewal rates, margin by contract, wallet share growth.
- Implement sales playbooks, scripts, and standardized processes.
- Provide coaching on consultative selling and value-based pricing.
- Develop AMs in relationship management and strategic account growth.
- Conduct regular one-on-one performance reviews.
- Build a culture of accountability, activity discipline, and professional development.
- Align with Operations to ensure seamless onboarding and execution.
- Work closely with Marketing to support lead generation and campaigns.
- Partner with Finance to monitor margin performance and contract pricing integrity.
- Champion CRM compliance and data-driven decision-making.
Education/Experience
Requirements for the Regional Sales Manager
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience (preferably in commercial services, facilities services, or landscape management)
- Proven experience coaching new business development professionals
- Strong financial acumen with understanding of gross margin drivers
- Experience scaling sales teams in growth-oriented organizations
- Proficiency in CRM systems and pipeline analytics
